EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN (ESD) SYSTEM

Emergency Shutdown System (ESD) is designed to eliminate / minimize the consequences of emergencies related to hazardous situations such as uncontrolled inline flow, escape of hydrocarbons, or outbreak of fire in surface flowline and related field production facility areas.

Solid’s emergency shutdown system includes an emergency shutdown (ESD) valve actuated by a PLC-based ESD control Panel.

The ESD system monitors inline flow parameters and will actuate to a fail safe condition upon occurrence of an uncontrolled flow situation.

Basically, the system consists of field-mounted sensors, valves and trip relays, system logic for processing of incoming signals, alarm and HMI units. The system can process input signals and activating outputs in accordance with the Cause & Effect charts defined for the Installation.
